The Milwaukee County Courthouse Annex is nearing the end of its existence in this photo. Within a few months, it would be torn down as part of the Marquette Interchange reconstruction project, to be processed into a large heap of gravel. The structure (mostly a parking ramp) stood over the northbound lanes of Interstate 43 (and previously US-141) for many years, and the north side of the building was decorated with a painting of whales by artist Wyland. In recent years, the deterioration of the structure became apparent as chunks of concrete fell from it! Mark W. Hintz photo, 02/01/06, Milwaukee WI
