Mark di Suvero sculpture The Calling

At the east end of Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee stands this sculpture, named The Calling by artist Mark di Suvero, but known as "Milwaukee's Asterisk" by some, since it is, essentially, a folded orange asterisk made from I-beams.  My wife Debbie's take on it: "What is that thing? ... That's an eyesore."  Converse to the asterisk is the beautiful Calatrava addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum, barely visible at left.  Mark W. Hintz photo, 12/28/07, Milwaukee WI
