Thanks to a tip posted by Todd Taylor on the WisRail Yahoo!Group^, I included in my daily travels for November 17, 2005, a side trip to Duplainville, where an unpainted (primer-only) EMD SD70ACe was sitting on the siding next to the transload. Despite some initial speculation as to the identity of the unit, I was able to confirm that this locomotive was actually Kansas City Southern 4007, on its way to Wisconsin & Southern Railroad's Horicon paint shop.
The WSOR Yahoo!Group^ kept track of the unit for me as it was leaving Wisconsin & Southern property; it headed down to Janesville, although I did not turn out to photograph it in-transit. It was supposed to be interchanged to the Iowa Chicago & Eastern at Janesville, but restrictions on six-axle units on the Janesville line kept the ICE crew from picking the unit up from the WSOR, so I was lucky to have found 4007, along with mate 4008, tucked away in the yard at Janesville.
