UP Wisconsin Electric Coal Train Derailment

The orange arrow applied to this photo points at sign for the newly-installed derail, meant to protect the mainline from stray coal cars.  Unfortunately, the train crew was apparently unaware of the installation, as they shoved the end of their train over the derail, and then apparently pulled forward, derailing three cars in the process!  Two of the cars tipped on their sides, spilling their loads of coal, while the third remained upright.  Brent P. photo, 05/06/06, Caledonia WI
